About Yellow Horse
My name is Jennifer Profitt and I am the founder and director of Yellow Horse & Associates. Yellow Horse is a proud family name which reflects my own Native American family narrative and history. Coming from a community of artists, my skills emerged early in visually constructing and organizing information and ideas. That love for making connections led me to pursue what perhaps is often seen as disparate disciplines -- art and the hard sciences. I chose an English degree while simultaneously a thankful recipient of a competitive art scholarship. I delighted in my post-graduate studies in Biochemistry in part for the artistic ability to "see" and "recognize" the behavior of organic molecules.
As a published author and an active participant in traditional academia, my ability to articulate ideas across both the sciences and arts has enabled me to reach broad audiences. By using my art in the classroom I have been able to communicate the joy of science and the wonder of the natural world. I enjoy rendering representations of the scientific environment, from invertebrates to cellular behavioral pathways, in my art and am a proud member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. Though Yellow Horse & Associates I have the opportunity to hand select professionals who also share in this cross-pollinating ability to interpret complex information in an effective and catching visual platform.Best,
